Alice Birch
Alice has written short plays for Nabokov, The Arcola, Theatre 503 and Old Vic New Voices and has been on attachment to National Theatre Studio. She is currently on attachment to Channel 4 and Paines Plough, and will be attached to the Royal Court Theatre later this year. Her play MANY MOONS is published by Oberon.
Rachel De-lahay
Rachel’s first full length play The Westbridge was joint winner of the 2010 Alfred Fagon award and was produced upstairs at the Royal Court last year. She was a member of the Royal Court Young Writer’s Programme and has been selected as one of the BBC Writer’s Room 10 with the Bush as her partner theatre.
Tom Morton Smith
Tom’s plays include:
Salt Meets Wound, In Doggerland (Theatre503), Venison (Yellowtale Theatre Company) Uncertainty, Hygiene Hypothesis (Latitude Festival). He collaborated with composer Jon Nicholls on Blunderbuss (The Theatre, Chipping Norton). He has had short plays and rehearsed readings performed at the Old Vic, Royal Court, Liverpool Everyman, Southwark Playhouse, Arcola and Shakespeare’s Globe. He was writer-in-residence at Paines Plough in 2007/08 and is currently under commission to the RSC.
Bola Agbaje
Theatre includes Playing the Game (Tricycle) Off The Endz and Gone Too Far! (Royal Court). Bola won an Olivier award in 2008 for Gone Too Far and is currently developing it into a screenplay. She is writer in residence for Paines Plough and is under commission for the Royal Court Theatre, Tiata Fahodzi, Paines Plough and Cardboard Citizens.
Jonathan Brittain
Theatre includes The Sexual Awakening of Peter Mayo and Will and Phillipa and Now in a Relationshop (Pleasance/Theatre 503) The Wake (Bedlam/New Diorama). Jonathan has recently worked at The National Theatre Studio and his play The Spies in Room 503 won Old Vic New Voices Ignite 2 and will be made into a short film this year.
Ella Hickson
Theatre includes Decade (Headlong) Precious Little Talent (Trafalgar Studios) Soup (Traverse) Hot Mess (Latitude/Arcola). Ella spent a year working with The Traverse Theatre as their Emerging Playwright on Attachment. She is currently under commission to Headlong Theatre and is this year’s Pearson Playwright in Residence at the Lyric Hammersmith.
Omar El-Khairy
Theatre includes Eyelids (Unicorn) Given The Times (Finborough) Kettled Passions (Lyric Hammersmith Studio. For screen, his short Tunnels is currently in production with Idioms Film in the West Bank, Palestine and Omar is now working on his first feature length screenplay, Sheikh. He is currently finishing a PhD in Political Sociology at LSE
